Native to Burton-on-Trent, the beautiful and very rare Marmabird lives on a diet solely of Marmite XO sandwiches, and builds elaborate nests with the empty jars – indeed, the more jars the male can collect, the greater the chance of him successfully finding a mate. The Marmabird is sadly in great decline, due to human activity (the competition for Marmite).. but some of the keener wildlife enthusiasts may be lucky enough to spot them in the area. One Marmite factory worker was said to have one nesting in his hair, attracted to the yeasty aroma, but this may simply be rumour…

[NB: On closer examination, experts believe this may simply be a Superb Spreo Starling with im-PECK-able taste.]
