Marmite Fever
I must go down to the shops again, to the Tesco or the Spar,
And all I ask on the leaden shelves is that I see a jar,
And the jar’s brown with a yellow lid and there for me it’s waiting,
And I spread it with cheese upon my bread or use it in my baking.
I must go down to the shop again, it’s party time tonight
To look for Twiglets or rice cakes, they make a tasty bite.
And all I ask is a cheese pinwheel with my favourite savoury spread,
And a cheese and Marmite butty before I go to bed.

I have loved Marmite for as long as Ican remember, I eat cheese and marmite butties almost every day, they are the only one for me. I have written a poem based on John Masefield's Sea Fever because once you have a love of Marmite you can't resist the urge to eat some every day.
