What is the Marmarati?

We are a society of Marmite lovers charged with protecting the very finest condiment yet created by human hand. You can find out more at http://www.marmarati.org/history

How do I join the Marmarati?

To join the Marmarati you must prove your devotion through a series of challenges on this site you are viewing now…also known as our hallowed portal. There will be 8 challenges in total. At the end of our recruitment period we will consider how you have performed by viewing your entries, the amount of points you have received on each one, your total point score and we shall include the view of our Judges who will review the work in their categories and guide us in our selection process. The judging process will take place in the presence of an independent judge. After this we shall select the finest amongst you to join our number. The Marmarati’s decision is final. Impress us with your skills, prove that your love knows no bounds and help us spread the good word of Marmite to all and we shall take notice. You have our word.

Do I have to enter every challenge?

Certainly not – we are testing a number of different skills and understand that some of your may be rather more comfortable creating fine art than toasting a crumpet! Such is life. However, you will receive a small amount of points for every entry you make and on top of that the more you push yourself to expand your learning of Marmite the better. We all appreciate a little extra effort now and then.

How many times can I submit to each challenge?

You may submit to each challenge as many entries as you deem necessary to show us your skills. However, be warned that what the Marmarati look for is quality, hence the voting. Astounding us with just one entry may be easier than muddying the waters with a flood of lesser efforts. If you simply enter submissions to boost your point scores this will be flagged by an administrator and will be considered against your entry to the Marmarati at the end of the competition.

How does the scoring work? How do I get points?

When you upload an entry to the site it is placed in a public gallery for your fellow prospects and the current Marmarati to vote on, giving it points. You also get a small number  points for each entry that you submit but please make note of the point above – we will be watching you like a well trained hawk to ensure you are making an effort as well as a submission.

What do I win?

The aim of the Marmarati site is to help identify the top Marmite lovers in the world and induct them into the Marmarati, which is a prize enough in itself. On top of this you’ll be in excellent company in a private and exclusive Facebook group, you may be offered first tastes of new products, hear exclusive Marmite news first and be given access to an exclusive Marmarati shop with Marmarati merchandise…you may even be given special credits to buy this free of charge.

How do I win more Medals?

Medals work similarly to scoring, in that you’ll get more medals if you earn more points, and you might even get more medals if you make more submissions. We also might give away medals for being an outstanding member of the site so make sure to vote  on other people’s entries often and be generous. Who knows what might happen?

Marmarati.org isn’t working for me

The man for the job is the Marmarati Master of Cermonies, William Fotherington-Smythe. Dispatch to him an email at Marmarati@marmite.com with details of the problem (with a screengrab if you know how to do so) and let him know what internet browser you use so that he can investigate.

What is Marmite XO and why do the Marmarati like it so much?

Marmite XO (or Extra Old) uses 4 specially selected yeast sources and under the watchful eye of the Master Blender, St.John, has been matured four times longer to create a strong and full bodied flavor only for the most devoted of lovers. Rumour has it that top members of the Marmarati were selected to join St.John as he tasted different varieties and had a hand in choosing the final flavor…an honour that may be given to you if you become a member too.
